The Child and the Toad

A new participatory theatre-in-education programme for young people aged 5-7 years old, based on the folk tale as retold by the Brothers Grimm.

Toad, Toad, hurry quick
Come here you little thing
You must have your bread and milk
A feast fit for a king

The Child and the Toad is a brand new half-day participatory theatre-in-education programme. An extraordinary story about love and loss, The Child and the Toad, like all great stories, comes from within and goes to the heart of being human.

An experience for classes of up to 30 Key Stage 1 children, the programme will give pupils an opportunity to develop their creative thinking; skills of enquiry, communication and verbal reasoning, and will provide the space for them to listen to stories and speak of their own.

This is a chance for pupils to engage with new work from an internationally renowned company, and with the highest calibre of theatre for children and young people.

The Child and the Toad will be touring schools from 25th Feb-18th July 2008.
