Final Day of Filming
The filming was much enjoyed by the young people who were brilliant at re-rehearsing their moments and staying focused. The whole day was about capturing those moments, and it was a challenging logistical exercise to fit all of the scenes into the day. We had forewarned the participants that professional filming can be a long and drawn out process, but when we saw some rough cuts from the filming we could see that the time had been well worth it. We consider the film a snapshot of this project but moreover a testament to the young people who had fully embraced the project and felt connected with the experience of ordinary people in extraordinary situations. With another nod to heritage buildings we decided to premiere the film at the Electric Cinema, which opened in 1909.
