A new adaption of Mary Shelley’s iconic story for schools touring

Frankenstein is a story for our times and of our times. Big Brum’s Frankenstein will be a powerful drama, rich in imagery that illuminates the themes at the heart of Shelley’s complex text, such as identity, what makes us human, good and evil, love and hate, knowledge and ethics, responsibility and power and justice and prejudice.

“I was benevolent and good. Misery made me a fiend.”

What is a monster? How are monsters made? And can they ever be unmade?

Mary Shelley’s monster is still out there … it has taken hold of our imaginations.
